If you’re looking for a list of great league starters for specific content, this is my list for POE 3.23 Affliction League.
I’ll share my top picks for best mapper, best Sanctum runner, best Expedition and Ultimatum runner, best bosser, and the best build for leveling.

1. Best Leveling: Subtractem’s SRS Guardian
Starting off with my pick for the smoothest leveling build is going to be Subtractem’s SRS Guardian.
This build is super well-rounded. It has great damage and defenses. It has a semi-autotargeting one button play style.
And this build is HC and SSF viable. So, while this build is not boss focused, it’s otherwise capable of doing all content in the game, even Ubers with enough investment.
This guide also has excellent presentation, and the PoB has a lot of detail, for example, what are the specific POE Items you need to choose. And this should be great for newer players wanting to play their first build.

2. Mapping: JayTX’s Bleed Bow Gladiator
Next up, Bleed Bow Gladiator is back. And if you missed out playing this build in its prime, now is the time.
Because of the speed and explosions, Bleed Bow is one of the most fun satisfying builds of all time in Path of Exile. And JayTX has helped to revive the build in a league start context.
The PoB is not as detailed as some others on this list, but everything is explained well. The build does include a short leveling guide in the notes section, as well as a compact leveling PoB. But that being said, this is a more slightly advanced build that won’t be good for brand new players playing their first league.
Seriously, if you haven’t ever played a Bleed Bow Gladiator, do yourself a favor and buy POE Currency a lot in advance. This is my pick for the best general mapper of POE 3.23.
3. Sanctum: Tatiantel2’s Storm Totem Heirophant
Now if you’re looking for a league starter that shines in Sanctum but is still a good all-rounder, Tatiantel2 is the undisputed totem master. And his Storm Burst Totem build looks like an excellent option for POE 3.23 Affliction League.
Although some people don’t really like totems, they offer a highly defensive play style that’s actually a lot more fun to play than it looks.
This build features good damage, very good defenses, and can be scaled to clear all content in the game. Also, because this build is on Templar, it can be respecced into Shockwave Totems at a later stage if you do decide to fully commit to running Sanctums or league.
But if you stick with this, Tatiantel2’s guide is detailed and will take you all the way from the Twilight Strand up to your 100th Lycia kill of the league.
4. Expedition/Ultimatum: Lolcohol’s Poison BV Pathfinder
If you’re looking for a build that will excel at the long awaited return of Ultimatum, as well as the ever popular Expedition, this Poison Blade Vortex Pathfinder from Lolcohol is perfect.
The build is well-rounded, cheap, and has extensive note sections to help you learn all aspects of the build. Other than the detailed PoB, which will carry you through the leveling process, the guide includes an information spreadsheet, as well as a full video campaign leveling guide.
All in all, this build is a great mapper and the best Expedition/Ultimatum league start build. If you take my advice and choose this build, you won’t regret it!
5. Bosser: Zizaran’s Explosive Trap Trickster
If you’re looking for a league start bossing build, Zizaran’s Explosive Trap Trickster is going to be the perfect choice.
While this build doesn’t have the best clear and it relies on many buttons to function optimally, this build has excellent single target, which should make it a top tier league start bossing build. This should also shine in Sanctum.
And Zarin’s guide is well detailed, with a ton of notes, and is very new player friendly.

6. Delve/Blight: Travic’s Boneshatter Juggernaut
