Treatments for hair loss have been around for decades. Some of them do better than others. A hair transplant, on the other hand, is a permanent hair loss operation that is recommended by all physicians. Hair transplantation can be done using a variety of methods, but the most common are two. Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) are examples of these procedures. Both approaches have been approved by the FDA, making them both safe and reliable. While the technique of hair transplantation is determined by a hair transplant surgeon, most patients choose FUE transplants. By contrasting FUE and FUT in this post, we were able to provide some valuable advice. Continue reading to discover why the FUE hair transplant in Turkey approach is more straightforward.

    Difference between FUE and FUT

In some ways, the two methods are dissimilar. The disparity between the procedures, as well as scarring, are some of the causes. Furthermore, an DHI method in Turkey transplant may be completed with a smaller team. A FUT transplant, on the other hand, necessitates the use of a skilled surgeon and a specialist team. Complications are more probable with FUT than with FUE. As a consequence, it necessitates greater precision. We’ve provided some hints below to illustrate how FUE is more straightforward than FUT.

    • Procedure: Both FUE and FUT have significant differences in their procedures. In FUE, the surgeon removes each follicular unit from the donor site individually. He doesn’t take a strip of skin off at a time to pull follicles one by one. Punches of various sizes are used to remove hair follicles. Since these punches are usually small in size, they leave few marks. These wounds heal easily and are barely noticeable. A FUT transplant, on the other hand, requires removing a linear strip of skin from the donor site. The surgeon then removes hair follicles from the strip with finesse. For patients who are experiencing progressive hair loss, FUT is the procedure of choice. It enables the surgeon to remove as many hair grafts as possible. Unlike FUE, FUT allows the donor site to be stitched, which results in a scar.
    • Shaving: In both FUE and FUT hair transplantation, some type of shaving is needed. The surgeon will shave or cut the region where the follicles will be removed during FUT. In FUE, on the other hand, the entire scalp is normally shaved. Since the follicles are collected from various parts of the scalp, this is the case.
    • Scarring: Hair transplant scarring is unavoidable, but the type of scarring varies. Owing to a thin and longitudinal cut at the donor site, scarring is more noticeable in FUT. Sutures are used to seal the wound, leaving a long, linear scar on the backside of the scalp. FUT is not a treatment for you if you don’t like long hair. To cover the long scar at the donor site, you’ll need to wear your hair long. The FUE treatment is favored because it does not leave a noticeable scar. The scarring is minimal since the hair follicles are removed one by one. Hair grafts are extracted using small punches of about 1mm in this technique. It leaves tiny wounds that grow into scabs and heal on their own after a few days.
    • Pain and Discomfort: FUE and FUT procedures have different levels of pain and discomfort before and after surgery. Since a skin strip is cut during the FUT operation, the pain level is greater than with FUE. However, due to anesthesia, the patient does not experience any discomfort during the operation. Since the risks of complications are higher after the operation, it is important to obey post-operative instructions. Furthermore, because the scar is sutured, it can cause pain until it is fully healed. An FUE hair transplant, on the other hand, does not need stitches and does not result in scarring. As a result, discomfort is significantly reduced compared to FUT. Healing is also easier, and there are fewer post-operative orders to obey.
    • Number of Grafts: FUE has a lower graft yield than FUT. Since only a certain number of grafts can be collected in a single session, this is the case. As a result, more sessions will be needed to extract more grafts. The number of harvested grafts is highest in FUT. Furthermore, in FUE, the grafts cannot survive the extraction process. The grafts can be harmed by the extraction punch. However, in FUT, the grafts can survive better.
    • Cost: FUE is more costly than FUT. Since the grafts are removed one at a time, FUE is a time-consuming process. FUT hair loss therapy, on the other hand, does not take long to remove grafts from the skin strip. A professional surgeon and a specialist team are also needed for the FUE procedure. It raises the price of the treatment above that of FUT.
    • Recovery: FUE has a much shorter recovery time than FUT. FUT is more invasive and needs a longer, more uncomfortable recovery time. FUE, on the other hand, needs the least amount of downtime and creates the least amount of discomfort. In general, the FUE recovery time is uneventful. Scarring is common after FUT, and the stitches take time to heal. Redness, soreness, and discomfort at the incision site are normal as a result of this. Furthermore, the chance of infection in FUT is much higher than in FUE.
