Who doesn’t want beautiful white sparkling healthy teeth? Today, many people face the problems of tooth decay and gum diseases. Because of this, they face embarrassment to give even a smile to their colleagues and friends. Neither they are able to speak nor they can eat what they want!

But thanks to a dental implant which has solved many of such problems! Dental implants provide a complete tooth replacement acting as artificial roots to support full function and to prevent jawbone loss. Moreover, they provide people with the strength to eat all kinds of food without struggling to chew.,To know the correct estimate of the Dental Implants Perth Cost you need to consult it with your dentist.

    Types of dental implants

Science has gone far beyond in introducing different types of dental implants. Each type of dental implant comes with a different coating, size, and connector and usually depends on the need for their use. These types typically fall into two categories.

    • Endosteal implants

Endosteal implants are sometimes used as an alternative to a bridge or removable denture. They include many types such as screw types, cylinder types, and bladed types. These implants are made of titanium having the shape of a small screw and placed in the jawbone. Moreover, these are safe, effective and one of the widely used implants today.

    • Subperiosteal implants

These implants are placed on or above the jawbone. These implants are preferred by people who do not have enough healthy natural jawbone and prefer not going under augmentation procedure to rebuild it.

    Other Alternative Techniques

Since every person has specific needs, the dental implant dentists suggest alternative treatment options in addition to the multi-step dental implant procedure. These alternatives include:

    • Mini Dental Implants

These are also called small or narrow dental implants. The unique thing about these implants is that they are narrower than the commonly used dental implants. Moreover, they are used to stabilize a lower denture.

    • All-on-4

In this technique, 4 dental implants are placed in the available bone. First, a temporary set of replacement teeth are placed the same day. The patient has to follow a special diet until the gum tissues heal and the implants bond with his natural bone. After about 4-6 months, the permanent replacement teeth are placed, and he can resume his regular diet.

    • Immediate Load Dental Implants

These implants allow placement of a temporary tooth during the same day. People having enough natural bone and an implant secure enough to support immediate placement on the new temporary tooth can take advantage of this technique. Procedure Followed for Dental Implants

    • During surgery, the surgeon makes a cut to open the gum and expose the bone. Holes are drilled deep into the bone where the dental implant is to be placed.
    • After the placement of the implant, osseointegration begins. During this process, the jawbone grows and unites with the surface of the dental implant. This process takes several months but provides a solid base for the new artificial tooth.
    • When osseointegration is complete, the patient may need additional surgery to place the abutment.
    • To place the abutment, the surgeon reopens the gum, attaches the abutment to the dental implant, and then the gum tissue is closed around but not over the abutment.
    • Once the gums heal, the next step is to choose the new artificial teeth. The teeth can either be removable (a conventional removable denture which can be a partial or full denture) or fixed (the tooth is permanently cemented onto an individual implant abutment).
    • After the procedure is completed, the patient might experience swelling of his gums or face, pain at the implant site and minor bleeding, etc.
