Why is it important to relax on the weekend when you work so hard during the week? Well, the reason is that when you work hard during the week, after a long hard day of work and performing your duties, you deserve to relax and let yourself unwind.
A WALK IN THE PARK
Even if this is something new for you because it’s typically not done in America, consider some time to enjoy reading a good book or taking a walk in the park. These things might seem like they will take more time than they’re worth but trust us when we say that even the smallest investment can reap many reaped rewards. A few moments of rest each weekend can make all the difference in your productivity on Monday morning. As Randall Munroe says “You should always think about what to do next on Sunday night—sleep.”
FIND A GOOD WINE AND RELAX
Kick back and take it easy with Highlands 41 Monterey Chardonnay, a wine produced in the United States. Monterey Chardonnay comes from California. It is produced by Highlands 41. Take some time and find a good food pairing with this wine.
READ A BOOK
Get online and search for reading lists. Many people post the books they have read and what they thought about them. There are so many good reads out there. You can find one that piques your interest. Find a nice spot to lay back, put your feet up, and enjoy your book. Soon you will be taken away as you turn each page. Many people like to read books electronically, but there is something about holding a book in your hands and turning it page by page.
FIND A TRAIL TO EXPLORE
Do a little research and find an easy (or not so easy) trail to walk. There is something about being in nature that relaxes us and takes our worries away. There are new beauties to experience around every corner. Who knows, this trail might be close to where you now live.
CALL A FRIEND
You know that friend, the one that makes you smile every time you talk to them. Grab your phone and give them a call. Soon you will be reminiscing about other times and places and you will feel relaxed all over. You can share new stories too. This is why friends are important. We can relate to them and they know who we are. It will be time well spent.
WALK AROUND A GARDEN OR PLANT NURSERY
When we are around growing things, it can lift our spirits. Maybe it is the smell or the newness of it all, but it can be a great way to relax as you see new beginnings growing right in front of you. If you have a green thumb, you might consider taking some of these plants home with you and giving them a new life at your place.
DINNER WITH FRIENDS
The right people in the right place are the keys to a relaxing evening. Find a restaurant with the right ambiance that everyone agrees on and let the restaurant do the work. You can order your favorite dinner and share some great conversations with people you love being with.
GET OUT ON THE WATER
Whether you can get on a sailboat, a motor boat, or paddle a kayak around a lake, being on the water is a wonderful place to feel relaxed. Make sure it is a calm day and float on the smooth water until the sun sets. According to the author and marine biologist, Wallace Nichols, “People can experience the benefits of the water whether they’re near the ocean, a lake, river, swimming pool or even listening to the soothing sound of a fountain.” That is the beauty of water.
CREATE SOMETHING
Head into the kitchen to start making the dish you are known for. Better yet, try out a new recipe that you saw online a few days ago. Don’t love cooking? Go out to the garage or shop and start sawing, drilling, bending, and folding, and don’t stop until you have made a new creation. Read about a new project you have never tried and then get started.
There are so many things you can do to find relaxation. These are just a few. You know what makes you relaxed better than anyone else. It’s now your time. Go get started!
