Those of you who are looking for the latest Bollywood and Kannada movies in 2022 can be happy to know that there are a lot of interesting films in the works right now. You can choose from movies like Ek Love Ya, Window Seat, Love Mocktail, and Gaalipata. Some of these movies are also directed by Sagar Puranik.
Love Mocktail 2
Having said that, Love Mocktail 2 (or LM2 for short) is not a bad flick at all. The film is a sequel to the hit cult classic and features a stellar cast led by the dauntless Darling Krishna and Milana Nagaraj. As expected, the pair put their money where their mouths are. The film is not only entertaining but also a bit of a tear jerker. It’s a pity the sequel dragged its feet a little too long Mxplayer.
Despite its many shortcomings, the film does serve up some of the best cinematic moments in recent memory. Darling Krishna is at his most endearing and Milana Nagaraj brings a lot of sparkle to the table. The film is also littered with some of the finest cinematography in recent memory. Love Mocktail 2 is one of the few mainstream offerings to feature a solid cast of talented actors and it is a must watch.
Gaalipata 2
‘Gaalipata 2’ is a 2022 Indian Kannada language romantic comedy film. It is the sequel to the 2008 film ‘Gaalipata’ and focuses on the friendship between three friends. The ensemble cast includes Ganesh, Anant Nag, Diganth Manchale and Vaibhavi Shandilya.
The film features a lot of locations in nature. The film starts with a phone call between the three friends. The film follows their journey and how they get to know about each other. It also highlights the bond between them through a kite. The kite symbolises youth, hope and happiness.
Window Seat
Apparently, Window Seat is not your average movie. It’s a romantic suspense thriller. Fortunately, there are plenty of plot points to keep you entertained. Ultimately, the film is one of the better recent Kannada releases. Its best attributes are its visuals and its soundtrack.
The movie is anchored by a good cast, with Nirup Bhandari and Amrutha Iyengar doing well as the lead pair. They are augmented by Suraj from Comedy Khiladigalu and P Ravi Shankar as a sly cameo. The movie’s most dazzling moment may be its dazzling soundtrack, which is accompanied by a nice montage of Kannada musical hits.
Pruthvi Ambaar’s Sugarless
Priyanka Thimmesh, Pruthvi Ambaar and Dharmanna Kadur star in Sugarless, a Kannada film about a diabetic youngster. The movie features a number of notable actors including H. G. Dattatreya, Naveen Sajju, Raghu Ramanakoppa, Bama Harish and Srinagar Kitty.
The movie is a fusion of comedy and drama. It also explores the health issues related to diabetes. The film also addresses the stigma attached to diabetes at a young age.
The movie features a lot of interesting characters. The first half is a bit aimless. There is also a nifty action sequence. However, the movie does not live up to its potential. The film also has some uninspired writing.
Ek Love Ya
Featuring Rachitha Ram, Reeshma Nanaiah, Cockroach Sudhi and Shashikumar, Ek Love Ya is a Kannada film directed by Prem. This film has a story of a boy falling in love with a girl. Amar, a young law student falls in love with Anitha, a stylish student. But he is rejected by her. In the end, he goes to any extent to fulfill his love.
Ek Love Ya also explores the love-hate relationship between youngsters. It is a drama with a solid twist. There are long emotional love episodes. It has a colourful vibe. It also has great locales. However, the commercial elements take away from the social issues.
Sagar Puranik’s directorial debut
Taking a page from director Rajesh Kotian’s playbook, Sagar Puranik has a proven track record of producing a slew of entertaining cinematic experiences. This list includes a bevy of award winning films such as Doodles, which was also a winner at the box office. The aforementioned film’s high-octane sex fest sparked a few more creative projects. This has led to the aforementioned auteur having a very productive career. Moreover, Sagar has a knack for spotting the next big thing, and bringing it home.
